Bio: 

Lisa McLaughlin facilitates global OER partnerships, manages user experience design, information architecture and social media strategy, and synthesizes outreach and communications between ISKME's research and education arms and our Open Knowledge Networks.  Lisa received dual Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan in Information Science (MSI) and Management of Human Services (MSW). Her background and interests include social and open innovation, community informatics, social experience design, and cross-sector collaboration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan.

What are the biggest opportunities for change in education?: 

Open and design thinking. I think open innovation matters deeply in education and is building towards a tipping point. Integrating design thinking in education enables learning and curriculum to  be re-imagined, evolve. I believe that OER can drive the 21st century towards better.  

What does collaboration mean to you?: 

Not reinventing the wheel, harnessing many perspectives to build integral knowledge and tools.

What's your most memorable ISKME moment?: 

Staff scavenger hunt, running down harvard ave. to the mailbox for the final clue.  Best team meeting ever.
