ATLAS: Accomplished Teaching, Learning and Schools

The National Board aims to support teacher preparation by offering ATLAS (Accomplished Teaching, Learning and Schools). ATLAS is a unique, searchable online library of authentic videos showing National Board Certified Teachers at work in the classroom. Each video is accompanied by the teacher's written reflection about the instruction or the activity shown. Aligned to professional teaching standards and indexed by teachers, ATLAS serves as a window into what accomplished teaching looks like. Read more here.

*As part of ISKME’s mission to improve the practice of teaching and learning through knowledge sharing and collaboration, ISKME developed the ATLAS platform for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Based on ISKME’s OER Commons infrastructure, ATLAS was built to advance the reach and impact of teacher professional learning, and advance the field of teaching more broadly by providing educators with rich video cases that demonstrate key aspects of teaching and learning. ATLAS Members are able to annotate the videos and related commentaries, sharing their comments with the broader ATLAS audience--ensuring high quality resource and knowledge a high quality of resource and knowledge sharing that supports networks of teachers and learners worldwide.
