"Applications and Challenges of Free Cultural Practices"


Reporting on research about how educational resources "travel" across different settings and use cases, Cynthia Jimes, Sr. Research Associate at ISKME contributes to the iCommons 2008 Research Track.

"Education Policy and Practice in a New Century: Implementing what Works"


The Open Education '08 track will challenge and stimulate participants over six session during where tangible elements will be developed as follows:
  • A checklist on the practical implementation of open education which could be applied to OER projects;

  • An updated map of what is happening in open education around the world, including developments in this sphere since Dubrovnik iCommons Summit 07;

  • Concrete collaborative projects  in the practice and policy departments;

  • A  picture of how catalyst organisations can best contribute to the broader open education movement.

Cynthia Jimes participates in this multi-day work session to infuse lessons learned from OER project case study research and the OER Commons initiative.
