ISKME Appoints Thad Nodine as Vice President
HALF MOON BAY, CA, June 6, 2005 — Thad R. Nodine, a specialist in education policy, has been appointed Vice President of the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME), a national think-tank whose research helps educational institutions and systems use what they know to improve what they do.
Based in Half Moon Bay, California, ISKME is an independent, nonprofit organization engaged in a wide range of research, evaluation, and practical applications of knowledge management issues in education. Dr. Nodine will focus on managing operations and overseeing research and strategic communications.
Dr. Nodine has been consultant to several national organizations over the past decade, including the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education, the Irvine Foundation, the Knight Foundation, and ISKME. He has managed projects in research, analysis, writing, and strategic communications. He is co-author of Knowledge Management in Education: Defining the Landscape and “Using External Accountability Mandates to Create Internal Change,” in Planning for Higher Education. He has had direct experience in education policy at the federal, state, and local levelsas a legislative staff member and speech writer in the U.S. Senate, as a reporter covering educational issues in the Colorado General Assembly, and as a trustee of Santa Cruz City Schools in California. He has a Ph.D. in literature from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a B.A. in government from Oberlin College.
