Principal Leadership Evaluation
Using Stories to Assess the Impact of Professional Development on Leadership Practices
| This project assesses how a school of education’s professional development services have helped school districts reach their leadership development goals for assistant principals. The project employs narrative capture methodology, in which assistant principals participating in the professional development are prompted to write stories about the challenges and decisions they face in their day to day leadership, and to self interpret the stories. In doing so, the study provides in situ snapshots of leadership styles, challenges, and successes, which in turn will be analyzed in relationship to the school of education’s professional development services. |
