Principal Training Institute Information Mapping Strategy

Facilitating a Culture of Collaboration and Continuous Learning

ruler_1

To be effective, educational initiatives, programs and technologies require a continuous, collaborative improvement process of data gathering, monitoring, reflection, and adaptation. This often necessitates instilling mechanisms that break down existing knowledge silos and that inspire people to share and collaborate, as well as automating routine tasks so that time can be spent on more collaborative, expertise-intense tasks.

This project assisted the Principal Training Institute in its development of a system and processes that support its mission to better share out their learnings with the broader national and international education community, and to concomitantly filter in external information that can impact its ability to continuously learn and build capacity and innovations to meet changing demands.

The project has involved helping the institute to explore possibilities for facilitating improved internal and external information flows, including considerations for an “open” model for sharing educational content with the wider public. The project also involved  the critical examination of the institute’s existing information processes and the creation an early blueprint of its streamlined, future information processes.
