INFUSION Lunch with Lisa Petrides to talk about Big Ideas

October 17th, 2012

Almost 12 years ago, Lisa Petrides, a Columbia University professor of education, decided to quit academia and build an entirely new system of education based on free and open access for all. Using her connections and reputation as an innovator, she raised millions in grants to start a nonprofit institute in Half Moon Bay known as ISKME, which developed the award-winning OER Commons initiative, an open source teaching and learning network. ISKME also hosts a Big Ideas Fest (www.bigideasfest.org), where participants teamup to solve one of three major education challenges facing the world, and winning teams receive funding tocomplete their prototypes. A prolific blogger and tweeter, Lisa is also writing a book on what the future of education will look like. If you'd like to hear her vision, come join us.  www.sylviapaull.com
