A Hub on OER Commons is a curated digital library of open educational resources, customized to serve the unique needs of the Hub partner and their faculty community.
OER Commons Hubs are branded spaces within ISKME’s flagship digital library where institutions can develop curated collections, manage content, facilitate conversations, and share information about their work and program. Creating a unique home for your institution is a way to contextualize your OER program, curate resources for your educators, and communicate about your OER work in a way that is discoverable and contextualized for your institution.
With a Hub, your institution can aggregate and manage resources your faculty have adopted, adapted, or created. You can develop curated collections, highlight the work of partners and peer institutions, share high quality OER, and make discovery easier for your faculty and administrators. You can also add collections to your hub that have been curated by ISKME’s librarians and partners to help your faculty utilize and/or remix others’ existing, high-quality work. Groups enable your faculty to collaborate on curricular materials in shared spaces, organize and share resources, evaluate and discuss their work, and organize collaborative projects.
OER Commons enjoys a vast audience from around the world, with over 10 million visits per year. Hubs on OER Commons are part of the OER Commons digital library and benefit from the existing user community, ongoing platform development, and user support.
